All Politics is Local, 2011
Oil on linen, 20' x 24"
In 2011, Cape May Forum's annual weekend of talks and events based on the well known Chatagua was titled, The Politics of Food. To create an image for the Forum, a competition was held. Although I almost never enter competitions, I couldn't resist this one because the concept. I knew immediately what I wanted to do and what I wanted to title it. I created an image, a feast if you will, that included foods local to Cape May. Thus it was fitting that I appropriated the famous Tip O'Neal quote, "All Politics is Local" for the title. The painting was selected as the image for the Forum. The original was auctioned and purchased by a local restaurant, Four Ten Bank Street, and hangs there today. The Forum continues to use the image in much of their publicity. There is limited addition print series that is available for purchase. Sandra Bloodworth
