Queen's Nest Respite, 2007
Oil on linen, 2' x 2'
March 18, 2006, In the spring of 2006 Fred and I spent much of our time in the Queens nest in Long Island City. Fred, always creating delicious meals, as he does to this day. Although we were busy planning for Fred's retirement, with a big party in the works, we stopped to take time to savor our meals together. The table setting is always central to the meal and we did a very good job of creating wonderful settings even when we were the guests that night. There is something very special when you treat the meals you share as a couple as important as those with a multitude of guests. For this meal, Fred created his own recipe of chicken in a tomato base with peppers over a bed of rice. Sandra Bloodworth
